So who’s the Shrimp?
I’m Sarah Monahan, the shrimp behind ShrimpTank Productions. At a wee 4′11″ it’s easy to see why I was called a shrimp as a kid. The tank comes from growing up on television, giving the feeling of being on view like a goldfish… I was an actress on Australia’s highest rating sitcom, Hey Dad..! as well as a couple of soapies/dramas and over 100 TV and print ads. So I understand how to get out there in the spotlight and create a public image.
Over the years I’ve worked in various fields. Starting out as a model and actress, I then worked in restaurants, (I know, it’s supposed to be the other way around) I’ve spent many years working in IT, when my husband and I owned a technology company helping local businesses in San Antonio. I started out as a helpdesk tech and then changed over to Marketing and Relations as we grew. Throughout the years, I’ve worked as a promotional model and brand ambassador. This means everything from handing out free samples at the supermarket, guerrilla street marketing to being a booth babe at a local convention. I know what works and what doesn’t. Just because you’ve spent a bunch of cash on trinkets doesn’t mean people will convert to your company. Most recently I worked at a SEO and Analytics company. Otherwise, I’m out filming and editing for Going Down, my scuba diving adventure series. My hope is one day we’ll sell the show to Travel Channel or Discovery and I’ll get paid to travel the world scuba diving. In the mean time, I’m here to help you guys get your face out there.
