Naturtint Hair Dye

I get bored of having virgin hair every couple of years, and then go nuts with it. I do enjoy rocking the 1960’s white blonde look, and then I remember how difficult it is to maintain, and how expensive it can be if you’re not doing it yourself. While living in the US I’d hit up Sally Beauty Supply for all my needs, but I haven’t found an equivalent here in Australia. The below was my own work, and I’d sleep in pincurls to get the full vintage vibe.

But now I’m in Australia, I thought I’d go to the salon to get my hair done. It was nice, but it was hella expensive. They said the first was was exxy cause it was whole head, and then it would get cheaper. But it really didn’t. Also, I hate sitting there for hours, and how it burns my scalp.

So I decided that white blonde wasn’t for me right now. But I also don’t like growing it out. That demarcation line is trashy, and I can’t deal with it.

So I decided to blend in the roots and go slighty darker, to a more natural looking colour.

I found a brand called Naturtint at my local health food store. Free from ammonia, parabens, silicones, paraffin, mineral oils, heavy metals, artificial fragrances, sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS), formaldehyde derivatives, and it’s also Vegan, since they don’t test on animals.

I thought I’d record myself doing the dye job, so you could see the results.

Naturtint is available on Amazon, if you don’t have a local hippie health food store. I couldn’t find it at my local chemist or supermarket, and there’s a lot more colours available online than I found locally.

This one is Shrimp Approved.
